Casa Lėlytė is a family business that opened its doors on March 23, 2017 in Bogotá; However, Maria Angelica Bernal, its chef and co-owner, years before, had already been dreaming of the idea of having a multifunctional space at the service of travelers, diners, art and culture; Together with her mother, who agreed to be her partner, they started a project that would change their lifes. Today Casa Lėlytė has three partners; Maria Angelica who is chef and manages the business, Marisol who helps in the financial area and Alberto Mario who believed in the project.
We found the fifties house where Casa Lėlytė lives today in Chapinero Alto, a neighborhood that has mutated and has become the coolest neighborhood in the city but at the same time it can still feel like that traditional Bogota neighborhood. This house after a long and arduous restoration was ready to start making this dream a reality.
HOTEL
The hotel was not part of the plan, however it was built because the house was too big for a restaurant (the first restaurant in our lives) so it was built as a result of the trips that Maria Angelica has made throughout her life. We wanted to create a different way of living Bogotá, with the comforts of a boutique hotel but feeling like a local… And although the bed and breakfast format is not very common in Colombia, little by little the Colombians who come to Bogotá have been understanding the concept . Of course, people who come from abroad love it!
RESTAURANT / Cafė & Bar
The restaurant is the result of a personal philosophy as Maria Angelica changed her carnivorous diet to a vegetarian one in her adolescence. And although this not only helped her love for her cooking to emerge much more, it also made her desire to explore in depth even more intense. Today, we are pioneers in signature vegetable cuisine, exalting Colombian ingredients and dishes but with the touch of the house and above all basing them on the philosophy of food for the soul and respect for the life of animals, local purchases, respect for the ingredient and providing a unique experience in the city.
CULTURAL EVENTS
We love and admire art, design, entrepreneurship and since Maria Angelica is also a publicist and in her years working for advertising agencies she dedicated herself to holding events of different formats, we wanted to open up the space for holding different events in various formats. The house can be rented in its entirety for private events, but different events open to the public are also held during the year.
